A Few Odds And Ends

Just a Few Notes:

A recent Idea We Heard – Your Cell Phone Goes Off During The Church Service equals $5 for Missions (World Service)

Someone said : Leaders lead by example in their giving and attendance.

Bring Others – Invite and Involve New People.

Children’s Ministry is vital.

Young Adults : Rise Up = The church wants Your Involvement and Advice.

We choose to put service above self: Serving Others Above Serving Self.

NO RINOS = Religious In Name Only...
Someone said : Stop Playing Church and start Being The Church Wherever You Are!

ABC’s = Back To The Basics with Attending, Bible Reading and Commitment

Help In Practical Ways: Bring Canned Food to your local food pantry – Give young people Bike Helmets and Donate New Children’s Books.

Your Religion Should Affect Your Living : What You Say, Where You Go, and How You Spend.

Someone wrote : “Each congregation must carry the load and the vision. A Pastor (Corps Officer) may set the tone and vision but the congregation is the one the carries it forward. Especially this is true in The Salvation Army because officers(pastors) often move. Smooth transitions can take place in The Salvation Army because soldiers (members) have a personal stake in the progress and health of the corps they attend.”

What are we to be?

A LESSON ON INCLUSION

Mark 9:38–40

John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons by the use of your name, and we tried to stop him because he is not one of our company.” “Don’t stop him,” said Jesus. “There is no one who can do a work of power in the strength of my name and lightly speak evil of me. He who is not against us is for us.”

William Barclay wrote:

We may hate a man’s beliefs, but we must never hate the man. We may wish to eliminate what he teaches, but we must never wish to eliminate him.

“He drew a circle that shut me out—
Rebel, heretic, thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win—
We drew a circle that took him in.”
